The Green Starttup DiariesNews
This week started with a Monday team meeting, not usual for the Dawan Global team, we kind of work in silos totally mission based with designated on our specialties coming back to on Thursdays to see where we are go over all we are working on. This Monday team meeting is focused on the preparation as setup to head to the New York State Purchasing Forum and Trade show. Planning out our attack strategies, for all of the state government agencies. This is where methodology begins to define your sales, that is integral for a startup to understand. Talking to everyone is necessary, but knowing your main targets is mandatory. Researching is a huge proponent in every business but it is the brain that allows the body of a startup to function. We may be a green startup, but we are a startup nonetheless, our data, customers define all of our strategies. Knowing your audience is key, but engagement is how you turn the lock to access success. We targeted several State purchasing officers that our products make sense for, but the interesting thing having a sales pitch that changes public perception in the form of persuasion. I say this because when most people here solar they immediately think ‘panels on a roof’, not ‘keep my phone charge as I go’. This way of thinking makes our products niche, which is a problem. Changing the dynamics of public perception is the only way to have a dynamic pitch that truly illustrates our products. Having that and great networking along with follow-up is the trifecta for getting contracts. Wish us luck, Cheers! Date: July 3rd – July 9th 2016READ MORE
